THE PLAZA DE JESÚS CENTRALIZES THE ACTIVITIES OF THE FESTIVITIES TO FACILITATE SANITARY MEASURES
The Jesús Festival Commission and the Santa Eulalia del Río City Council have organized a reduced program for the patron saint festivities of the Parish where safety will prevail and all the sanitary measures dictated by national and regional regulations will be put in place to minimize the risk of the participants. To facilitate this control, practically all the activities will take place in the square in front of the church, so it will be easier to have a limited area with control measures at the entrances.
The first planned activities will take place this Friday afternoon and will have young people as protagonists. Thus, starting at 5.00 pm, the Punt Jove will go out to the square (if weather permits) to play billiards, table football, table tennis or badminton tournaments, among others. Then, starting at 8.30 pm, an outdoor youth cinema session is planned, with an inflatable screen, 60 ‘pouffes’ and popcorn service.
Saturday, September 5, starting at 5.00 pm, the II Carrera de los Colores will take place, a solidarity event in favour of the NGO Proyecto Juntos that supports hospitalized children and has 122 registered in its different variants, ranging from a mini-test of 500 meters to a race of 12 kilometres.
In the evening there will be two concerts starting at 8:00 pm, first with Pere Navarro and Pizza4brkfst, and then with Pin Up Sound. The two recitals, like the rest of the activities in the square, will have reduced capacity, access controls, mandatory use of a mask and hydrogels, as well as the obligation to be seated. Access will always be half an hour before each event and always until full capacity is reached.
On Sunday there will be one of the classics of the festivities: the Walk to S’Estanyol. This year, to avoid risky situations, prior registration is required at firstname.lastname@example.org, and participants must wear a mask. In addition, the traditional toast will not be made and breakfast must be brought from home. In the late afternoon, there will be a night of magic, flamenco and variety show starting at 8.30 pm.
On the eve of the big day, there will first be a storytelling session with Encarna de las Heras (7.00 pm) and Morning Drivers in concert (8.30 pm). Already on Tuesday, the main day of the festivities, the traditional mass is kept, with the Plan de Jesús Choir and the sounders of the Colla de la Huerta, but it will not be done inside the church but outside, always complying with the requirements established by the regulations on preventive requirements. Next, the Carreteros de la Isla will take a tour of the main streets of the town.
In the afternoon, starting at 7.30 pm there will be a musical show by the teachers of the Municipal Band, the projection of some videos dedicated to the Heart of the Pla de Jesús and the Colla de la Huerta and, finally, the show with Boto and Mauri.
The scheduled program will end on Saturday September 12 with the XII BTT Fiestas de Jesús, organized by Es Xebellí and with departure and arrival in Can Lluís de sa Rota from 5.00 pm.
