SPANISH WORLD HERITAGE CITIES CELEBRATE THE NIGHT OF HERITAGE

La Noche del Patrimonio - Heritage Night

SPANISH WORLD HERITAGE CITIES CELEBRATE THE HERITAGE NIGHT

The Heritage Night will be held again next Saturday, September 12, simultaneously in the 15 World Heritage Cities of Spain. The President of the Group and Mayor of Ibiza, Rafael Ruiz, has pointed out that “it is the greatest effort made by this organization in its history to show the cultural and heritage wealth of our cities, the best example of the power of the Spain brand in the world. An effort that we make from the Group to show the world the beauty and great monumental wealth of our 15 cities, combining at the same time the performing arts with the opening of the most emblematic spaces in the whole country ”.

HERITAGE SCENE FESTIVAL

As a novelty this year, thanks to the support of Casa África (AECID) and Africa Moment, several dance short films of the ELLA POEMA project will be screened in the heritage spaces of Ibiza, Santiago and Córdoba, made by the Galician choreographer Aïda Colmenero Dïaz, in collaboration with African female referents in the performing arts, thus giving a different look to the public space and to an often invisible continent.

With an emphasis on childhood, in collaboration with ASSITEJ, the Group continues to promote participatory proposals where the youngest volunteers from Heritage Cities will be the main protagonists of collective choreographic projects and, for yet another year, the artistic programming will be accompanied by free open workshops given by the same invited artists on the same day of the performance as part of the #ViveHeritage section of the Heritage Night.

OPEN HERITAGE

From 8:00 p.m. to midnight, heritage and cultural spaces will be open to the public free of charge, which will allow them to enjoy museums, palaces, churches, monasteries, cultural spaces, town halls and representative buildings, outside their normal hours. Added to this initiative are some of the historic establishments that Paradores manage in the Heritage Cities and more specifically the Paradores of Alcalá de Henares; Cáceres; Córdoba, Santiago de Compostela, Segovia and Úbeda.

LIVE HERITAGE

The Culture and Heritage Councils of each city organize a multitude of small-format shows in squares, streets and heritage spaces that include flamenco concerts; blues, choirs or instrumental groups; exhibitions, poetry recitals, dramatized visits, games, audiovisual projections, theatre shows, dance masterclasses, laughter therapy workshops, circus, ceramic or traditional goldsmith workshop, as well as other activities such as oil tasting or observation of the stars, along with plans for the youngest members of the family, such as storytelling, puppets or magic shows, without forgetting guided tours and tuk-tuk and tram tours.

All this wide and varied program of activities will be developed within strict security measures, with a prominent role of local cultural groups, as support of the city councils to the cultural fabric.

INTERNATIONAL ONLINE BROADCAST OF THE HERITAGE NIGHT

“This year the great novelty of THE HERITAGE NIGHT will be the international online broadcasting, which allows people from all over the world to enjoy our cities from their homes and plan trips to our country in the future”, added the president of the Group, who thanked Unesco for its support and dissemination of all the programming.

The broadcast of THE HERITAGE NIGHT will be carried out through a powerful digital platform and from the website www.lanochedelpatrimonio.com that will allow the festival to be followed online as a gala, with a live broadcast of shows and with a wide representation of the cultural production of the 15 cities.
