The City Council of Sant Josep de la Talaia presents a new edition of San José Contra el Cáncer, the program of activities that promotes the dissemination of these diseases and the actions to prevent them and improve the quality of life for those who suffer them. As in the previous two editions, Sant Josep Contra el Cáncer brings together all the associations that work in this area in the Pitiusas, which contribute to the organization of the planned events and thus also make known their activity.
The program begins on Saturday, February 8, with the Ascent to the Talaia Against Cancer, which will depart from the square of the church of Sant Josep at 10 am, and last until Sunday, February 16, when several tables are planned informative and workshops oriented to various aspects of cancerous diseases with a supportive meal in the gymnasium of CEIP Urgell for an intense day of activities that will end with a charity concert by Joaquin Garlin, accompanied by hearts for Sonia Torres Arabí.
A walk is of low medium degree of difficulty, there will also be the collaboration of the workers of the Sant Josep Recicla program, financed by the SOIB, who will be responsible for distributing the canes and breakfasts for all Participants who wish from 9h30 am. Garbage bags will also be delivered for those who want to take advantage of to collect the waste they find during the route, as will the program workers. The program resumes on Thursday, February 13, with the inauguration at 7h30 pm at Can Jeroni of the Art X Cancer exhibition, with works from the “Matic ‘s: Prisma’62” collection, by Silverio Marín, for the benefit of Ibiza and Formentera Against Cancer (IFCC); “MAMA: Art against cancer” for the benefit of the Metastatic Breast Cancer Association (ACMM) and ceramics of St. George’s students to help research these diseases.
The program continues on Saturday, February 15, from 10h30 am with a yoga and rehabilitation workshop with physiotherapist Stephen Freeth. At 11h00, the liveliest can participate in the Mini Skate Cross, a skating day for all ages that will be held in the Vildu Car Park organized by ACMM with the collaboration of Ibiza Patina. At 11h30, the multipurpose Tourism room will host a healthy breakfast workshop without sugars or ultra-processed foods by Marina Ribas, of ACMM, which must be previously registered on the phone 657 018 292.
