SANTA EULÀRIA DES RIU STRENGTHENS ITS COMMITMENT TO SHOWS FOR ALL AUDIENCES BY JOINING THE CIRCUIT CIRCo A ESCENA
The Department of Culture of the Santa Eulalia del Río City Council continues to deepen its commitment to the programming of shows of proven quality open to all audiences, the greatest exponent of which is the Barruguet Family Theater Festival but which extends to all its performing arts programming. Thus, this year, in addition to continuing to participate in the Platea national program for the promotion of these arts, this fall season the City Council also joins the Circo a Escena circuit that will bring high-level proposals to the stages of Eulalia that until now were left out of the City Council’s programming capacity. In total, in the coming months, 7 shows have been planned for this program before the Christmas holidays.
Outside of the Platea and Circo a Escena programs, the fall program will include one more proposal. In fact, it will be the one that will open the season. It is about ‘Nube Nube’, a montage by Murcian Periferia Teatro that can be followed at the Centro Cultural de Jesús (CCdJ) on October 3. It is a proposal for theater with puppets aimed at an audience of 4 years and older and with a text in Spanish. Tickets for the show are already on sale in advance (8 euros plus management fees) through www.festivalbarruguet.com, www.visitsantaeulalia.com and www.santaeulariadesriu.com. They can also be purchased at the normal price (10 euros) at the CCdJ itself one hour before the show, which will start at 6:00 p.m.
The Santa Eulària des Riu City Council has participated in the Platea Program since 2014, which means that proposals from professional companies from all over the country can be programmed at a lower cost and always with quality content that is highly attractive to the public. The programming for this season that is now starting will include two shows included within the Platea. Thus, on October 24, it will arrive at the Palau de Congressos ‘Blowing’, by the Catalans Bàcum Produccions, a dance staging for all audiences. The next proposal will arrive on December 23 at the same scenic space. In this case, it is a proposal by the Andalusian Zen del Sur that combines acrobatic dance with live music and is entitled ‘Órbita’.
As for the Circo a Escena circuit, this is a proposal managed by the Network of Theaters, Auditoriums, Circuits, and Festivals of Public Ownership with a grant from the National Institute of Performing Arts Shows (INAEM), which also promotes the Platea program). In the next quarter, four proposals included under this umbrella will be scheduled. The first of them will be on October 31 with ‘Los viajes de Bowa’, by La Gata Japonesa from Madrid. A week later the presentation of ‘Oyun’, by the Valencian Companyia El Fedito, will play. On November 21 it will be the turn of ‘Tea Time’ by Cirkofonic and on the 12th of the following month, ‘Esencial’ by Vaivén Circo will arrive, both companies from Andalusia. All proposals are aimed at all audiences and will be held at the Palacio de Congresos.
