Fans of swing music have a date in San Antonio from April 26 to 28. Ibiza Swing Fun Fest will celebrate its second edition with 72 hours of free live music plus a host of activities and confirmed bands, both from Spain and abroad.
In its second edition, the festival organizers aim to “break with the traditional format, to focus fully on the enjoyment of live music on the streets”. All audiences are welcome to the event and the organizers insist on “the importance of letting yourself be swept away by the rhythm of the music and to dance without stopping, regardless of your technique or competence”.
After the success of its first edition, with an audience that completely exceeded expectations, this year Ibiza Swing Fun Fest has organized master classes with three great dance teachers Gerard Nevot, Roser Ros and Juan Vilafañe. They will lead three couples to battle it out at the end of the festival accompanied by a live swing band.
Amongst the confirmed bands are Madrid Hot Jazz Band, ‘Ghost Number, Le Dancing Pepa Swing Band, Monkey Doo, Musicaires Swing Band, Pinup Sound and Blues Mafia i es Saligardos. International bands Hot Sugar Band (France), The Schwings Band feat. Migloko (Lithuania) and Professor Cunningham & His Old School (New York) will be headlining. There will also be DJs specialized in this musical style making their way to the island such as The Swing Makers and Melodías Pizarras (from Radio 3).
All of Ibiza Swing Fun Fest’s free activities and concerts will take place in Passeig de Ses fonts, at Sa Punta des Molí and at Plaça del Nord in San Antonio. You can find the program and all the festival information at: www.ibizaswingfunfest.com.
