TERRITORI IBIZA IS BORN, THE INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL OF PERFORMANCE ART
The TERRITORI International Performance Art Festival will celebrate its first edition from September 21 to 27 on the island of Ibiza.
The festival is sponsored by the island’s municipalities of Sant Josep, Eivissa and Santa Eulària and the Insular Council as well as the collaboration of numerous national and international foundations and local companies.
TERRITORI is an event dedicated to Art of Action, which will take place in natural and urban spaces, cultural centers and galleries throughout the island. Its first edition was scheduled for April but due to the global health emergency it has finally been rescheduled for September. The festival will offer performances, theoretical talks, audiovisual sessions and a workshop for artists. All activities, except the workshop, are free and are aimed at anyone interested in artistic expression, whether artist or spectator.
The program, in which there will be online and face-to-face activities, involves artists from Spain, the United Kingdom, Chile, Mexico and Israel.
TERRITORI is seen as a physical space located in a geography as concrete as an island, and also as a conceptual space for encounter and exploration through art. It is proposed as a temporary territory where our identities, by right different and unique, can converge and find points of understanding between them.
The festival is an independent project organized by the artist and curator Isa Sanz, a vallisole tana trained in Spain and England and based in Ibiza since 2010. In her curatorial work, it is worth highlighting the 2019 North Station Prize awarded by the jury of the International Festival of Valladolid Street Arts and Theater: “for its accurate and refined selection of the most disturbing and beautiful proposals, capable of forging its own entity within the TAC”.
TERRITORI was born with the vocation of being an annual international benchmark in Action Art and with DO Ibiza.
