Children’s protest song: Yo Soy Ratón
“Yo Soy Ratón” stands out from the usual patterns of children: songs that reflect the real world of children, with their challenges, frustrations and joys. Letters that empower children to express themselves as they are and that serves as a mirror to validate often altered emotions. A place to discover those other dimensions of music beyond the purely playful: its power to move, combine and create spaces of understanding.
“Yo Soy Ratón”, arises from the union of Manu Rubio, educator and psychomotor trained in the Reggio Emilia method, recognized by UNESCO as one of the best pedagogies for children’s stages, and Paul Castejón, multi-instrumentalist composer, son of rock and versed in a plethora of styles from pop, to folk, world music, and even symphonic music, having done work for film and advertising. The result is a vibrant experience with passages that go from the tender to the great, to gradually become a nest in our consciences where to start gnawing.
