VI edition of ‘Corto y cambio de rol’
The Ibiza City Council has organized, together with the association El Xiringuito Teatro, which is now the VI edition of the project ‘Corto y cambio de Rol’. The socio-educational project, which aims to sensitize youth in equality and against sexist violence, begins on January 19 and due to the situation caused by the pandemic, it will hold the first online sessions.
The initiative is aimed at girls and boys between 14 and 18 years old, it will last until March. It will be held every Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. It is an activity financed by the Ministry of the Presidency, Culture and Equality of the Balearic Government, through the Institut Balear de la Dona, and the Ministry of Equality, through the State Pact against Gender Violence.
The Councilor for Equality, Claudia Cotaina, explained that ‘this initiative uses audiovisual interpretation and language as tools for the fight against sexist behaviour. During the various phases of the project, young people should debate and reflect on gender roles and stereotypes, sexuality and the different existing forms of sexist violence.’
The participants in ‘Corto y Cambio de Rol’ will receive specific training to be able to develop all the phases of making a short film, from the writing of the story to its interpretation, recording and final editing.
