In the late 1950s, it was the heyday of drive-in cinema in the United States. Cinema Paradiso Ibiza together with Viva Cala Llonga is very excited to bring this retro experience to the island.
Two films will be screened tonight: ‘The Greatest Showman’ (United States – 2017) by Michael Gracey and ‘Saturday Night Fever’ (United States – 1977) by John Badham.
Synopsis of ‘The Greatest Showman’: The story of American showman P.T. Barnum, founder of the circus that became the famous travelling Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus. (FILMAFFINITY)
Synopsis of ‘Saturday Night Fever’: The film that made John Travolta a household name is set in Brooklyn to the popular dance music of the Bee Gees. Tony Manero (Travolta) is a paint-store clerk who becomes the king of the discotheque when he puts on his polyester and gets down, with a little help from a social-climbing Manhattan secretary (Karen Lynn Gorney). This definitive portrait of a generation of disco dancers in the 1970s skyrocketed its young star to fame and further propelled the disco inferno infatuation. (FILMAFFINITY)
