Feim Barri, Feim Tradicions
The house of Can Tomeu – located in the neighbourhood of Can Escandell – will host a new edition of Feim Barri, FeimTradicions, the program of activities and citizen dynamization organized by the City of Eivissa and that, on this occasion, focuses on the promotion of Traditional Ibizan culture.
The activities will take place from 11 am to 5 pm, and includes workshops for the elaboration of sobrasada and blood sausage, an elaboration workshop for bread and muffins from Ibiza, and for orelletes and buñuelos, as well as a workshop for traditional dance, castanets and flute, and another brulada de cuerno. There will also be a demonstration of the use of the handkerchief.
At 11 am, Antoni Marí Marí will make a talk about Ibizan musical instruments, and at 12 pm Nieves Molina will do a traditional account activity. The music will begin at 1 pm with the performance of Juan ‘Murenu’ and Antonio Fernández and at 2h15 pm there will be a sound and dance of the Colla de Sa Bodega. Afterwards, a popular meal will be held with traditional rice, pickled caramel tasting and solidarity raffle for the benefit of the Red Cross.
The little ones will have at their disposal a children’s area of Punic handicraft, a children’s workshop of traditional architecture and a gincana with traditional games and workshops. In addition, visitors will be able to find samples of traditional handicrafts, of peasant cars, a sample of native breeds by the Pitiusa Federation of Native Breeds, one of Ibizan herbs, a sample of Ibizan dogs, apiculture and coconut salt.
