This year 2020 the motto of the International Museum Day is “Museums for equality: diversity and inclusion”, so the central idea is to celebrate the diversity of perspectives that make up the communities and the museum staff, as well as to promote tools to identify and overcome prejudice in the stories they tell.
Since the period of confinement, museums such as the MAEF have redirected a large part of their cultural activities on the digital stage, such as virtual visits to the Puig des Molins Museum and the necropolis available on the website www.maef.eu, or all the content daily digitals uploaded to the museum’s social networks.
In the first place, one of the activities that the MAEF has prepared is the connection and virtual exchange of pieces, as well as ways of interpreting them, with other museum centres that have also joined the International Museum Day. Thus, the piece of the day by @MAEF, with more than a month and a half published daily on the museum’s social networks, will have a special edition during the
#MuseumWeek tagged #UnioEntreMuseus.
Secondly, short videos will be uploaded to the networks sharing the experiences of our team and the museum’s friends, who are the ones who know the institution best, and there will also be a special edition of “Do it yourself from @MAEF“, with fun activities to do all together as a family.
And thirdly, the MAEF teaching team has prepared a very special surprise virtual workshop, of which we cannot yet reveal the details.
