MACE: Exhibition of the Permanent Collection
Visit the Contemporary Museum of Ibiza (MACE) where you can enjoy the permanent collection of the works of Jordi Alcaraz, Kunihiro Amano, Koyu Aoyama, Mario de Ayguavives, Martín Baer and Erwin Bechtold.
MACE has a very interesting collection of posters from the defunct Carl van der Voort gallery from the donation in 1997 to the museum. There are handmade posters, designed and made mostly by the artists themselves and screen-printed at the Ibograf Workshop, also founded by Carl van der Voort in Ibiza. Among the advertised artists there are names such as Tàpies, Acisclo Manzano, Hans Hinterreiter, Mompó, Guinovart, Adolfo Schlosser, Erwin Bechtold, Chillida, Saura, Teixidor, Pagliari, Tur Costa or Amadeo Gabino, among others.
MACE also has a small and budding photography collection. Some works come from the Bienal de Ibiza, in whose most recent period it opened its hands to other artistic techniques of serial reproduction such as photography. There is also a small nucleus from the Fenicis exhibition organized by this museum in 1993. Works by: Mario de Ayguavives, Stephen Lovett, Lourdes Grivé, Corina Yllera and David Trullo are currently on display.
