Vive la Posidonia activities
The Ibiza City Council presents the ‘Vive la Posidonia’ program with environmental, gastronomic, educational and cultural awareness activities to spread the importance of the Posidonia oceanica meadows, declared a World Heritage Site in 1999.
All activities are carried out with the necessary security measures.
In this fourth edition, kayak excursions and dives are maintained and news such as paddle surf visits are offered. The novelties also include a new educational program, promoted by the Department of the Environment, with three online seminars, in collaboration with local entities and professionals in the sector, where the speakers will be able to share their experiences and knowledge with participants of all ages through the district07800 platform.
Another novelty is the ‘Vive la Posidonia’ contest through the Ibiza tourism social networks with which the aim is to spread the value of the ancient plant. The people who participate in the different modalities of the contest will win prizes such as kayak excursions, paddle surfing or dives and also t-shirts or masks with the campaign logo, as well as lunches and dinners in the restaurants that participate in the promotion, along with nights of hotel and jewellery Posidonia. To get these awards, participants must answer questions about the importance of Posidonia and its life cycle or post photos with the campaign tag on their social networks.
Regarding the gastronomic part of the program, there is a wide representation of the city’s restaurants, with traditional gastronomy establishments that are open all year round and also representatives of the most innovative cuisine.
