The Eivissa Town Council celebrates the International Women’s Day for Peace and Disarmament with several talks through social networks during this week.
The first of these activities will be on Thursday, May 21, on the Eivissa Town Council Facebook, at 7:00 p.m. the president of the Foundation for Peace Research Seminar in Spain, Carmen Magallón, will speak about pacifist feminism at the conference “Builders of Peace: The Beginnings of Pacifist Feminism”.
On Friday, May 22, the coordinator of the Fons Pitiús de Cooperació, Fina Darder, will bring us closer, among other issues, to the ongoing struggle of the women of El Salvador to achieve a project of home drinking water in the area, where the lack of this Basic law creates major problems for the community. The talk “Women building Peace. Cooperation between El Salvador and the Pitiusas”, which will be presented by the Councilor for Equality, Claudia Cotaina, can be followed live from 6:00 p.m. on the Campus of the platform www.districte07800.es.
The last of the activities will be the same Sunday, May 24. At 6:00 p.m., Isabel Miguel, director of Education for Global Citizenship, UNRWA Spain, will speak about women and feminism in Palestine in the talk “Palestinian Women from diversity”. It will be through the Eivissa Town Council Facebook page.
