Women’s Health Day
The Ibiza City Council has organized various online activities to celebrate this week the International Women’s Health Day, which is commemorated Thursday, May 28.
The first of these activities will be on Wednesday, May 27 on the Facebook of the Ibiza City Council, at 6:00 p.m. Different doctors and nurses have prepared the video ‘Self-care is not negotiable’ in which they speak and give advice on different areas related to women’s health.
On Thursday, May 28, the lawyer specializing in patient law, Emilia de Sousa, will speak about the rights of childbirth and motherhood. It will be at 6:00 p.m. in talk through the platform www.districte07800.es. This videoconference, aimed at both women and professionals in the medical sector, will remind you that being informed and knowing our rights is the only conscious and responsible means to freely decide, accept or reject medical interventions. Furthermore, for professionals, being up-to-date with these means respecting the autonomy of women and humanizing the doctor-patient relationship.
The last of the activities will be a colloquium on “Mental Health and a gender perspective”, on Friday, May 29 at 6:00 p.m. Three women activists from Obertament Balears, Nieves Serra, Claudia Tomás and Isabel Toro, will speak with Noemí Tur, an Ibizan psychologist who will act as moderator, on the platform district07800.
The International Day of Action for Women’s Health has been celebrated on May 28 since 1987 with the aim of drawing attention to the right of women to enjoy comprehensive health throughout their lives.
