CAN PORTMANY CULTURAL SPACE
Located on the main road of San Rafael, on Isidor Macabich Avenue, the Can Portmany building dates from 1933. In 2007 it was restored and enabled for use as a space for cultural activities (library, auditorium, exhibition hall … ). It is the work of Juan Gómez Ripoll ‘Campos’, which incorporated elements imported from colonial architectural currents into the Ibizan architecture. The building, with a long facade to the main street, has a portico of columns. The tramontana facade, on the other hand, clearly secondary, presents the framed windows, a very characteristic feature of the Ibizan architecture.
