Malanga Café is a small and cozy music club located in the area of the passages of the Port of Ibiza.
Since its opening, in May 2015, the place has quickly become a reference of the Ibizan night. Being one of the few places dedicated to black music on the island, it has brought together an enthusiastic audience that celebrates finally having a place to meet to dance (until almost dawn) organic music, with tremendous groove, usually on vinyl and also different to the usual trends on the island.
In a short period of time they have already visited their cabin DJs of the likes of Quantic, Nickodemus, Bosq, José Márquez, Guts, Dj Tahira, Julien Lebrun, Rainer Trüby, Nightmares on Wax, DJ Floro [Sonideros, Radio3], Mr Lobezno [ Aphrodisia], Corrado Bucci, Smoove [UK], Aldo Vanucci [UK], Melon Bomb, Umoja, DJ Turmix [NYC, Fania Records], Russ Dewbury, [UK], Julio Moreno [Radio Gladys Palmera], Emile Omar [Radio Nova, Paris], Cristian Vinci, Boca 45 [UK], Jr. Dynamite [Sydney] or Marc Hype [Berlin].
These have been celebrated as the famous Felabration or the presentation of the Funk Festival Page and others like Supa Disco (by Solazz and Carmona), After Dark (by Mr Doris), Get Loose (by Lorcan), Upgrade (by Buckley), Jalapeño (by Ainsley May) Fonoteca (by Ian Kennedy & Nellie Shakes). And the famous Banana Boogaloo, Paoe! Vas?, Safari Groove or La Ritmoteca, defended by its residents Fosc, Juan Soul and DJ Baby.
Since 2017 it has also become a concert hall, with artists such as Ebo Taylor & The Saltpond City Band or Julian Maeso having passed through its stage. Each Thursday also hosts a well groovy jam session, directed by Pere Navarro, and through which innumerable artists of great quality have passed.
